Scope of this Policy and Definitions 

In this Privacy Policy, “our Websites” means worldwithoutcows.com and its subdomains, together with any other website, application, page or online service operated by or on behalf of World Without Cows that links to or references this Privacy Policy, and any successor or country-specific domains we operate for World Without Cows. 

“Media Content” means World Without Cows and any other film, series, episode, trailer, clip, podcast, or other audio or video content that we make available through our Websites. It does not include content that you or other users submit to us. 

Some of our services may be covered by an additional or separate privacy notice. Where a service provides its own notice, that notice applies to that service, and this Privacy Policy applies only to the extent the two do not conflict. Our pages and profiles on third-party social media platforms are governed by those platforms’ own privacy notices. 

If we make changes in our practices to further enhance the way we protect your Personal Data, we will update this policy and post the update at this website. In some situations we may also email the updated policy to you. Please review the Privacy Policy whenever you visit the World Without Cows website to make sure that you understand how any Personal Data you provide will be used. 

This policy does not apply to the practices of third parties you may choose to share information with when you use the services, including video hosting, ticketing, podcast and social media platforms. Please note that the collection and use of your information by these third parties is subject to their own privacy policies and terms. General Information 

“World Without Cows” is a feature documentary and ongoing content series produced by Planet of Plenty Productions, commissioned and owned by Alltech, Inc. The controller of your Personal Data is Alltech, Inc.  

Alltech, Inc. has its global company headquarters located at 3031 Catnip Hill Road, Nicholasville, Kentucky 40356, USA, as well as a European headquarters located at All-Technology (Ireland) Limited, Alltech Bioscience Centre, Summerhill Road, Sarney, Dunboyne Co. Meath. Alltech collects and stores the Personal Data you share at this website. Alltech may share your Personal Data internally to other members of the Alltech Group and with its service providers who assist Alltech with providing you specific services. 

Alltech Inc. is made up of different legal entities, which all form part of a wider group of companies (“the Alltech Group”) details of which can be found here. This Privacy Policy is written on behalf of the Alltech Group. When we mention “Alltech “, “we”, “us” or “our” in this Privacy Policy, we mean the relevant company in the Alltech Group responsible for processing your data. This Privacy Policy governs our Websites. Where you interact with Alltech in another capacity, for example as a customer, supplier or job applicant, the Alltech Group Privacy Policy at alltech.com applies instead.

Data Collection 

When operating our services, Alltech collects data, including Personal Data about you. “Personal Data” means information that can reasonably be linked to a particular individual or household. We collect various types of information from you and about you through: 

Direct interactions. You may give us your Personal Data by filling in forms or by corresponding with us by post, phone, email or otherwise. This includes Personal Data you provide when you: 

• create an account to consume Media Content; 

• create an account on our website;  

• subscribe to our service or publications; or to the World Without Cows newsletter or podcast; 

• register to attend a screening, or apply to host one; 

• submit a story, comment, question, podcast guest pitch or press enquiry; 

• enter a competition, promotion or survey; or take part in an educational program; or 

• give us feedback or contact us. 

Please note that we may process your Personal Data without your knowledge or consent, in compliance with the above rules, where this is required or permitted by law. 

Automated technologies or interactions. As you interact with our Websites, we automatically collect technical data about your equipment, browsing actions and patterns. We collect this Personal Data by using cookies, pixels, tags, SDKs and server logs, which we explain in further detail in our cookie policy. 

From third parties. We may receive data from our streaming, screening, ticketing, email, podcast and analytics providers, and from social media platforms where you interact with our accounts. 

Personal Data we collect includes: 

• Identity Data, such as first name, maiden name, last name, username or similar identifier, and title, and where relevant your organization, role and country. 

• Contact Data, such as billing address, delivery address, email address and telephone numbers. 

• Transaction Data, such as details about payments to and from you, and other details of products and services you have purchased from us. 

• Account and Authentication Data, such as your username, password, access credentials, single sign-on identifiers, session and authentication tokens, and your subscription or entitlement status. 

• Viewing Information, such as playback events including start, pause and completion, watch duration, playback quality, and the device type and network used to view. We use this information in aggregate as described in the Viewing Information section below. 

• Film Screenings and Event Data, such as registration details for screenings you attend or host, venue and event details, organization and audience information, attendance records, and ticketing or payment confirmation data received from our providers. 

• Technical Data, such as internet protocol (IP) address, your login data, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform, and other technology on the devices you use to access this website. 

• Profile Data, such as your username and password, purchases or orders made by you, your interests, preferences, feedback and survey responses. 

• Usage Data, such as information about how you use our Websites, products and services. 

• User-Generated Content, such as stories, comments, questions, testimonials and images you submit or post, together with any Personal Data contained in them. 

• Facility Access and Sanctions Screening Data, such as the results of checks we carry out against government sanctions and denied-party lists before admitting visitors to our offices and facilities. We carry out these checks only where you register to attend an event at an Alltech site in person. They do not apply if you watch the Media Content online, subscribe to our communications, or attend a screening hosted by a third party. 

• Event Media, such as photographs, video and audio recordings captured at screenings, panels and question-and-answer sessions at which you are present. 

• Marketing and Communications Data, such as your preferences in receiving marketing from us and our third parties and your communication preferences. 

We do not seek to collect any Personal Data defined as “Sensitive” or “Special Category” about you (this includes details about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, information about your health, or genetic and biometric data). If you voluntarily submit a story, comment or survey response that reveals your philosophical or religious beliefs or other special category data, we process that information on the basis of your explicit consent and only for the purpose for which you submitted it. You may withdraw that consent and ask us to remove the content at any time. We do not collect any information about criminal convictions and offences.  

Alltech obtains contact details and other Personal Data regarding media contacts and influencers from a variety of sources including Cision. If you wish to know more about how such information is collected and used, please refer to Cision’s privacy notice. 

Data Usage 

Alltech uses Personal Data for a variety of business purposes and legitimate interests, as described below. Alltech will only use your Personal Data for purposes that are consistent with and related to the original reason why we collected your Personal Data. If we need to use your Personal Data for an unrelated purpose, we will notify you and either seek your additional consent, or explain the legal basis on which we are permitted to do so. 

We use the information we obtain about you to: 

• Manage our business. Alltech uses Personal Data to maintain accounts, facilitate usage of the services, and complete necessary tasks to manage our business and provide our services. 

• Deliver the Media Content. We use Personal Data to create and administer your account, authenticate you, stream content to you, and apply territorial licensing restrictions. 

• Manage screenings and events. We use Personal Data to process registrations and hosting applications, communicate logistics and record attendance. 

• Publish and moderate content. We use Personal Data to review, moderate and, with your consent, publish stories and comments you submit. 

• Manage access to our premises. Where you register to attend an event at an Alltech site, we screen visitors against government sanctions and denied-party lists before granting access, and we keep a record of the check. 

• Conduct research and improve our business. Alltech uses Personal Data to conduct marketing research, such as questionnaires and surveys, and to analyze and enhance our marketing communication strategies, and to measure engagement with the Media Content, the podcast and our campaigns in aggregate. 

• Provide special offers. Alltech uses Personal Data to alert you to special offers, updated information, and other new products or services from Alltech. Alltech also uses Personal Data to manage your participation in our events and other promotions, where you have signed up for such events and promotions. 

• Communicate. Alltech uses Personal Data to communicate important business information, including delivering notices to you about the use of our services and marketing emails and e-newsletters to which you subscribe. 

• Protect our business. Alltech uses Personal Data to protect against fraud, unauthorized transactions, and other liabilities, and secure our services by identifying potential hackers and unauthorized users, and to prevent unauthorized access, credential sharing and piracy of the Media Content. 

• Ensure security and efficiency and comply with the law. We may use Personal Data for other purposes with your consent or where permitted by law, for example, to comply with applicable legal requirements, court orders, legal proceedings, document requests, industry standards, and our internal policies. 

Legal Bases for Personal Data Usage 

When we use Personal Data of residents of the EU, UK, or Switzerland, we use the information in accordance with the following legal bases: 

• Where necessary to perform our contract with you, including providing your account and streaming the Media Content to you, and managing screening registrations. 

• Where necessary to comply with our legal obligations, including the sanctions and denied-party screening of visitors to our premises required of us by applicable export control and sanctions laws. 

• Where necessary for our legitimate interests, including aggregate audience measurement, security and anti-piracy, and documenting our events. 

• Where you provide your consent, including for the newsletter and marketing, for non-essential cookies, and for publishing stories and testimonials you submit. 

• For purposes of public interest or to protect your or others’ vital interests. 

Where we rely on legitimate interests, you may obtain further information about it by contacting us. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time; withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand. 

Viewing Information 

This section describes information collected when you watch our Media Content through our own Websites. It does not apply where you watch our content on a third-party platform, or where you view our Media Content at a cinema, festival or screening hosted by someone else. 

When you stream Media Content on a platform that Alltech operates, we measure engagement in aggregate, including the number of views, watch time, completion rates and playback quality. We record whether an account has signed in, but we do not build individual viewing histories or associate specific titles or playback events with a named account holder. 

We do not disclose information identifying you as having requested or viewed specific Media Content to any third party for advertising or marketing purposes. If we ever wish to do so, we will first obtain your separate, informed, written consent, given at the time of or in advance of the disclosure and distinct from any other agreement. You may withdraw that consent at any time by emailing privacy@alltech.com. 

We may disclose viewing information without your consent where necessary to deliver the service you requested, to our service providers acting on our instructions and under contract, or where required by law. 

Disclosure of Personal Data 

We may disclose your Personal Data in the following ways and circumstances: 

• Internally. Alltech may share your Personal Data internally to other members of the Alltech Group. 

• When you consent. Out of respect for your privacy, Alltech will not disclose your Personal Data to others without your consent, except as specified in this Privacy Policy. 

• With our service providers and vendors. We transfer all, or a portion of, your Personal Data to our service providers who help us deliver our products and services to you and for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. These include our video streaming and hosting platform, our theatrical-on-demand and screening platform, our ticketing and event registration providers, our email marketing platform, our podcast host, our content delivery network, our cloud infrastructure providers and our analytics providers. These service providers are required by contract or law to only use or disclose the information as necessary to perform services on our behalf or as otherwise required by law. Although Alltech requires these third parties meet our privacy and security requirements, Alltech does not control the privacy or security policies of such third parties. 

• With screening partners, venues and distributors, where necessary to arrange a screening you have registered for or applied to host. 

• For a merger, acquisition, change in ownership, or reorganization. Personal Data we have collected may be disclosed to a third party in the event of a merger, transfer of ownership or assets, bankruptcy, or other corporate reorganization. 

• For data analytics. We share your Personal Data with analytics service providers such as Google and Facebook, subject to your consent choices and to the Viewing Information section above. Google may combine your browsing information, including information from your use of our Websites, to generate interest-based advertisements.

Sale and Sharing of Personal Data 

Alltech does not sell information in the commonly understood way. However, our use of cookies and other website tracking technologies may be considered a sale or sharing of Personal Data under certain data protection laws, in which case, the categories of Personal Data that we have sold or shared include identifiers (e.g., IP addresses) and internet or other similar network activity. 

Categories of third parties to whom Personal Data is sold or shared include data analytics providers and advertising and marketing providers. We have not sold Personal Data of children under the age of 16. We do not disclose Viewing Information for advertising purposes except as described in the Viewing Information section above. Your Privacy Options 

All users of Alltech websites have the right to have us correct or delete your Personal Data at any time. Users also have the right, and the ability, to manage their Alltech subscriptions at any time. 

U.S. Privacy Rights 

State consumer privacy laws may provide their residents with additional rights regarding our use of their Personal Data. California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia provide (now or in the future) their state residents with rights to: 

• Confirm whether Alltech processes their Personal Data. 

• Request access to the Personal Data (commonly known as a “data subject access request”) that Alltech has about you. 

• Request correction of the Personal Data that we hold about you. This right allows you to request that Alltech correct incomplete or inaccurate data Alltech holds about you. 

• Request deletion of the Personal Data that we hold about you. This right allows you to ask us to delete or remove Personal Data where there is no good reason for us continuing to process it. Note, however, that we may not always be able to comply with your request of deletion for specific legal reasons which we will tell you about, if applicable, at the time of your request. 

• Object to processing of your Personal Data for the purposes of targeted advertising, sales, or profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects. 

• Request a transfer of your Personal Data to a third party. 

• Either limit (opt-out of) or require consent to process sensitive Personal Data. 

• Be free from discrimination for exercising any of these rights.

Nevada provides its residents with a limited right to opt-out of certain Personal Data sales. Residents who wish to exercise these sale opt-out rights may submit a request. However, please know we do not currently sell data triggering that statute’s opt-out requirements.

European Union, United Kingdom, and Swiss Rights 

• Request access to the Personal Data (commonly known as a “data subject access request”) that Alltech has about you. 

• Request correction of the Personal Data that we hold about you. This right allows you to request that Alltech correct incomplete or inaccurate data Alltech holds about you. 

• Request erasure of the Personal Data that we hold about you. This right allows you to ask us to delete or remove Personal Data where there is no good reason for us continuing to process it. Note, however, that we may not always be able to comply with your request of erasure for specific legal reasons which we will tell you about, if applicable, at the time of your request. 

• Object to processing of your Personal Data where we are relying on a legitimate interest (or the legitimate interest of a third party), and there is something about your particular situation which makes you want to object to processing on this ground, as you feel it impacts on your fundamental rights and freedoms, or object to profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects. 

• Request restriction of our processing of your Personal Data. 

• Request a transfer of your Personal Data to a third party. 

• Withdraw consent at any time where we are relying on consent to process your Personal Data. However, this will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdraw your consent. If you withdraw your consent, we may not be able to provide certain products or services to you. We will advise you if this is the case at the time you withdraw your consent. 

• Right to File a Complaint: If you are a resident in the EEA, Switzerland or the UK, you have the right to lodge a complaint about our practices with respect to your personal information with the supervisory authority of your country or state.

Other Jurisdictions 

World Without Cows is shown and discussed worldwide. If you are located in a jurisdiction with its own data protection law, including Brazil, India, Canada or Australia, you may have rights equivalent to those described above, including rights of access, correction, erasure and portability, and in some jurisdictions the right to nominate another person to exercise your rights or to complain to your national data protection authority. Data Transfer and Storage 

Alltech is the data controller of the Personal Data we collect. Alltech uses a data processing service (data processor) provider in some instances to process your Personal Data. When Alltech uses a data processing service, the data processor is required by contract to have appropriate measures in place to protect Personal Data. The data processor processes the data only within the scope of Alltech’s instructions, and in accordance with the laws of the European Union. It is possible that your Personal Data may be stored outside of the European Union, namely in the United States. Data processors working with Alltech are contractually obligated to protect Personal Data in accordance with the laws of the European Union regardless of their location. Where we transfer Personal Data from the EEA, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we put in place appropriate safeguards as required by applicable data protection law, and you may request further information about those safeguards by contacting privacy@alltech.com. 

Data Retention 

Alltech retains the Personal Data you submit in order to answer your inquiries and/or to deliver any marketing emails and e-newsletters to which you subscribe. If you request that we end your subscription(s), Alltech will retain the Personal Data submitted for the preparation of statistics and for processing your comments and questions, unless you submit a data deletion request through privacy@alltech.com. Alltech will delete your information at your request, unless we are required or permitted by law to retain it. Alltech may also be required to share Personal Data with legal authorities but will only do so if it is legally required. 

Security and Automated Decision-Making 

We take appropriate measures to protect Personal Data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and you are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential. 

We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing, including profiling, that produce legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affect you. 

Communications Choices 

You can ask us to stop sending you marketing messages at any time by following the opt-out links included on marketing messages sent to you or by contacting us at any time at privacy@alltech.com, or through your account settings. 

When you opt out of receiving marketing messages, we will honor your request by no longer sending you marketing messages. Please note this does not apply to transactional messages or other messages we are required to send you by law, including messages relating to your account or to a screening you have registered for. We will still use your Personal Data if we have it as a result of a product/service purchase, warranty registration, product/service experience or other transactions. We retain your Personal Data in situations like those described so that we can continue to provide you services relating to these transactions.
