World Without Cows Podcast: Episode 1 — Justin Sherrard
Turning conversations into commitments for a better food future
In our latest video, World Without Cows filmmakers Michelle Michael and Brandon Whitworth took to the bustling streets of downtown Lexington, Kentucky, to ask local residents a seemingly a thought-provoking question: “Are we better off in a world without cows?”
These candid interviews are part of our ongoing effort to explore diverse perspectives on the multifaceted role of cows in our society, including their environmental impact, their role in feeding the world and their cultural and economic significance.

Building upon our previous discussions with University of Kentucky students (below), this video captures responses from a broader demographic. Participants shared their views on various topics, including the cultural significance of cows and the role of cows in climate change.
Like the documentary, this video series aims to foster a balanced dialogue, recognizing that the relationship between cows and our world is very complex. We invite you to watch the full video and join the conversation by sharing your thoughts in the comments section. What do cows contribute and what would the world look like without them?
